In accounting, internships aren't used as a way to get things done, but as a recruitment tool. We are trying to compete with offshore accounting teams, not campus recruiters.
We want to give students genuine experience. For the most part, internships aren't that. The students will have real responsibilities and deadlines. You can outsource detailed processes to them just like you would with an offshore team.
